YOGASLACKERS OF MN
2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016

Slackline yoga (or slackasana) has been described as "distilling the art of yogic concentration."  To balance on a 1" piece of webbing lightly tensioned between two trees is not easy, and doing yoga poses on it is even more challenging.  Yet despite the seemingly impossible nature of the act, it is achievable by almost anyone with a little bit of perseverance and patience.  The practice has many layers, simultaneously developing focus, dynamic balance, power, breath, core integration, flexibility, and confidence.  Utilizing standing postures, sitting postures, arm balances, kneeling postures, inversions and unique vinyasa, a skilled slackline yogi is able to create a flowing yoga practice without ever falling from the line.  Once certain skills have been mastered the line can be set up longer - making it much harder to balance on.  The line can also be set up over moving water or at great heights (highlining) - which requires much greater focus.

The members of team YogaSlackers have collectively taught over 20,000 people (from 6 to 82 yrs old) to successfully embrace this form of amazing asana.  They have developed a special line and simple tensioning system, allowing for practitioners to learn safely and experience the benefit of a wide range of dynamic energies while on the line.  They have also created a comprehensive DVD teaching slackline yoga to those unable to attend a workshop.

AcroYoga blends the spiritual wisdom of yoga, the loving kindness of Thai massage, and the dynamic power of Acrobatics. These three ancient lineages form the foundation of a unique new practice that cultivates trust, connection and playfulness. Our highest aim is to bring individuals into a state of union with themselves, with each other, and with the divine. From this place of mutual support the true self can be realized, honored and shared for the benefit of all.
