Kristi Johnson
-Co-Creator
-Taught at festivals and retreats locally and globally
We welcome the proud return of Minneapolis native Kristi Johnson to cOMmon Grounds. She took some time traveling the world as a student of yoga, and now she’s thrilled to come back hOMe. She’ll be offering a unique asana practice that will turn you upside down, around, this way, that way, and open your heart and mind to what’s really important in life.
Over the past year and a half, dealing with the loss of her partner, she’s used yoga to understand that herself. Hers is a journey of love, loss, addiction, and healing. She’s grateful to share how yoga has helped her not only move through it, but beyond it to a new, soulful normal.
In 2011, Kristi taught over 20 classes a week in the metro area. She was constantly consumed by its ability to transform people’s lives. She left MN to start a new life in San Diego and Denver with her greatest love. Over the next several years, she would learn to love her partner through his disease of addiction, and navigate their dream of starting a family.
Her daughter was born in 2015, and her partner passed away the following year. Tossed into chaos, she traveled the world with her daughter, surviving the hardest months of their lives and healing through yoga. She calls home wherever her daughter, Kennedy, is. From San Diego to Costa Rica and Minneapolis, Kristi is in a place to guide students through movement and detachment. She’s back to offer love and support in the community where her roots run deep. hOMe.
